IPL 2021 – Squad Changes For Royal Challengers Bangalore

Cricket fans, you all know about the break we had to take halfway through the 2021 edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL). However, it’s time to rejoice as we’re coming close to the resumption of the tournament as the IPL 2021 series resumes in UAE from 19th September 2021. And because of the break of a few months, most teams have changes because of international calendar, personal commitments and more, which makes a lot of difference to the way people will approach online betting for the rest of IPL 2021.

IPL 2021 - Squad Changes For Royal Challengers Bangalore

Today, we’re going to talk to you about the squad changes made in the Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) side. Probably one of the most under-performing teams in the history of the IPL, RCB has made a great start to IPL 2021 and they’ll be eyeing the silverware for sure. As they do every year, fans are asking if this could be the year for RCB but given the star they’ve made, it’s highly possible.

They had a really balanced side thanks to some good purchases during the IPL 2021 auction but still, they weren’t able to find the right combination – something they struggle with every year. This year too, they’ve been making the changes every game, and will be looking for some stability as we move into the UAE leg of IPL 2021. Let’s look at the biggest squad changes for them…

RCB IPL 2021 Squad Changes

  1. Wanindu Hasaranga – Not many Sri Lankans have performed in recent years of the IPL but this bowler has been in fiery form. He did well in England where Sri Lanka performed poorly and then came back and had a great home series against India as well, with 10 wickets in 5 games against them. He’s replacing Adam Zampa in the squad who hasn’t been all that great in the IPL, with 2 wickets from 3 games in IPL 2020, and no games in IPL 2021, 2019 or 2018.
  2. Tim David – Hello from Singapore! Here’s the first Singapore national to play in the IPL and he’s likely to make his playing debut in IPL 2021 as well, thanks to some brilliant form coming into the tournament. He played a few blinders in The Hundred in England and then followed it up with some good scores in CPL 2021 as well. In fact, he’s great in the field and we mentioned why David will make a great addition to this RCB side in IPL 2021, replacing New Zealand’s Finn Allen.
  3. Dushmantha Chameera – This team seems to have taken a liking towards Sri Lankan players, as they added this pacer to their side in place of Australia’s Daniel Sams who has sadly only managed 1 wicket in 5 career IPL games across 2020 and 2021. Chameera has some good, raw pace and can cause a few troubles to batsmen, provided he makes the team, as they already have Kyle Jamieson as an overseas pacer.
  4. Akash Deep – This change would probably be one of the toughest ones for RCB as they lost Washington Sundar for the rest of IPL 2021 due to an injury. Sundar has been very vital to the team as he bats as a floater and bowls in the powerplay overs more often than not. His replacement is unlikely to get any games in the rest of IPL 2021, as they have a few other uncapped players in the squad already, like Rajat Patidar.

We at Read Scoops are big RCB fans and we’re hoping these changes work out for the best as IPL 2021 resumes later this month. For more such cricketing stories from around the world, stay tuned to ReadScoops.com.
