A few days ago, the much-awaited Pro Kabaddi League Season 8 Auction finally took place. Apart from what happened and who went where, fans and players and management would’ve just been super happy to finally hear the Pro Kabaddi hype once again. It’s been two years since PKL Season 7 and finally, we’re ready to hit the mat again with some more Kabaddi action.
Coming back to the PKL 8 Auction, there were some hefty buys and trades which created new records as well. Some players were retained by the PKL franchises, while others were purchased in an open auction. A couple of players were in the news because of contracts of Rs.1 Crore and upwards, and the spotlight was all on the highest bidded played at the PKL 8 Auction at the end of the day – Pardeep Narwal.

The raiders and all-rounders were the most expensive buys at the PKL 8 Auction and one of them was Siddharth Desai who bagged a PKL contract of Rs.1.3 Crore, going to the Telugu Titans for the PKL 8 Season. However, Pardeep Narwal trumped this big, getting a whopping and record sum of Rs.1.65 Crore and the raider will be representing a new team in PKL 8 in UP Yoddha.
Pardeel Narwal PKL History
He began his PKL career with the Bengaluru Bulls in PKL 2 where he made 6 appearances through the season. However, his rise to fame had to be when he made the shift to Patna Pirates from PKL 3 onwards, going on to become one of the best raiders in the league over the years, while also crossing and creating several new league records as well.
He led his team to three consecutive PKL titles from Season 3 onwards, but they had a lean run in Season 6. In PKL 7, he went on to become the first raider in the history of the Pro Kabaddi League to cross 1,000 raid points and he still holds the record for the most raid points in the league. Still only 24 years old, there seem to be many more records to come and much bigger contracts to follow for the Team India raider!
