What Are The Text Messages Tim Paine Sent Female Co-Worker?

Cricket fans woke up this morning to shocking news of Australia wicket-keeper and Test captain Tim Paine stepping down as captain in the longest format, just weeks before the start of the 2021/22 Ashes series. This happens to be in relation to some raunchy and explicit texts he sent a female co-worker a few years ago.

The incident in question happened in 2017, as Paine returned to the Australian setup after 7 years. It is reported that Cricket Australia had already investigated the same four years ago, before he was called up in 2018 to captain the side amidst the sandpaper controversy where the likes of Steve Smith, David Warner and Cameron Bancroft were banned for multiple months to a year.

With these text messages and the investigation cropping up again recently, Paine is very embarrassed and decided to step down as captain with immediate effect after calling a press conference on Friday afternoon. “It’s an incredibly difficult decision, but the right one for me, my family, and cricket,” said the 36-year old as part of his statement.

The incident took place in November 2017 on the eve of the 1st Ashes Test in 2017. The female in question is said to be a Cricket Tasmania employee who Paine knew because of playing for the state and the two texted on and off for a year before texts turned explicit and she reported the same in June 2018.

This happened in the form of a written letter to Cricket Australia and Cricket Tasmania in 2018, also writing to the Australian Human Rights Commission. For those wondering about the Tim Paine texts that led to this scandal, it included unsolicited dick pics and other rude messages to the Tasmania employee. She even went on to resign from her position at Cricket Tasmania.

Apart from a picture of his genitals, Paine continued the conversation with things that can’t even be published. A slew of rude messages also followed. It is believed that Paine’s wife of 5 years, Bonnie, knew about the incident at the time and supported him through the difficult times. Now however, will be a fresh trouble for the family as the issue has resurfaced.

“Will you want to taste my d**?? F**k me, I’m seriously hard,” read one of his messages to the female co-worker. The first screenshot of the chat made public shows a clear hesitation from the Tasmania employee in taking the chat ahead, but Paine continued. “Can’t rest them when I’m this h**d!! Need to ease the tension …. Finish me off with those lips then ;)”

Later, there were more texts revealed and just before Paine sent the d**k pic was sent, the female co-worker sent a text saying “We’re both f**ked if this got out.” It just goes to show that the former Aussie captain knew exactly what he was getting into and he knew all the risks involved, but went ahead with it anyway.

“Although exonerated, I deeply regretted this incident at the time, and still do today. I spoke to my wife and family at the time and am enormously grateful for their forgiveness and support. We thought this incident was behind us and that I could focus entirely on the team, as I have done for the last three or four years. However, I recently became aware that this private text exchange was going to become public.”

“I believe that it is the right decision for me to stand down as captain, effective immediately. I do not want this to become an unwelcome disruption to the team ahead of what is a huge Ashes series. I have loved my role…” he said as he wiped a tear off his face at the conference. Paine will continue to be available for selection if Cricket Australia requires him. If not, Alex Carey could don the gloves as a replacement!
