17:15pm IST: Peshawar Zalmi went next in the Platinum Category and they picked a wild card player too, in Hazratullah Zazai from Afghanistan. Quetta Gladiators were the last to pick in Round 1 and they went in for Jason Roy from England. Islamabad United begins the action from the Diamond Category and they picked Marchant de Lange who sizzled in the recent Abu Dhabi T10. Multan Sultans went next and they picked Odean Smith from the West Indies. Soon later, England’s Lewis Gregory went to Karachi Kings. Last pick of the round was by Quetta Gladiators and they picked James Faulkner.

17:00pm IST: The bidding is underway at the PSL 2022 Player Draft. 90 seconds for each bid, and we begin with the Platinum Category. Lahore Qalandars have the first pick and they managed to retain opening batsman Fakhar Zaman in Round 1, who already played 5 seasons for them.

Multan Sultans go in for Australia’s Tim David, and he’s the first wild-card player who has been picked in Platinum from a lower category. Karachi Kings went next and since they retained two local players, they had to pick an overseas player, so they went in for Chris Jordan! Islamabad United also had to start with a foreign player and they went in for Colin Munro who had a BBL century just yesterday.

16:30pm IST: The PSL 7 draft is now live. Speeches, felicitations, and introductions underway at the venue.

PSL 7 Draft Platinum Category – $130,000-$170,000

PSL 7 Draft Diamond Category – $60,000-$85,000

Alex Hales, David Weise, Fabian Allen, Qais Ahmed, Naveen ul Haq, Ben Cutting, Dan Lawrence, James Faulkner, Lewis Gregory, Ben Dunk, Bhumika Rajapaksa, Dane Villas, Dushmantha Chameera, Harry Brook, Joe Clarke, Hazratullah Zazai, Kusal Mendis, Lendl Simmons, Luke Write, Mitchell McClenaghan, Phil Salt, Odean Smith, Rahmanullah Gurbaz, Saqib Mehmood, Samit Patel, Hamid Hassan, Johnson Charles, Mehmoodullah, Najibullah Zadran, Sherfane Rutherford.

There’s a picking order maintained in the PSL 2022 Draft and Lahore Qalandars will kick off proceedings with the first pick in the Platinum round. Before the PSL 7 draft, a number of players were traded around including Fakhar Zaman leaving Qalandars and Shahid Afridi being traded to Quetta Gladiators for PSL 2022, which will also be his farewell PSL season.

As many as 444 overseas players set to be up for grabs for the PSL 7 Draft and it’s the first time this is being organised at such a big level, purely because of the list of names involved. The latest update coming in is that the PSL 7 Draft can be watched live on the PSL YouTube channel as well, but there’s a slight delay. It begins at 4:15pm IST.
