Wimbledon 2023 top seeds
It’s arguably the biggest tennis slam of the year, is the Wimbledon Championships. We’re all set for yet another edition of this tournament being played in England and we expect nothing less than extravagant tennis on display once again. Players quickly moved from clay courts with Roland Garros ending last month to the grass courts, and there’s every chance that even the best players may not have accustomed to the new conditions as yet. As usual, 32 of the top ranked players get seeded in both the men’s as well as women’s draws. Even though Novak Djokovic has been the one winning grand slam titles for fun (recently won his 23rd in France), Spain’s Carlos Alcaraz was the top seed male player while Poland’s Iga Swiatek was the women’s top seed coming into the tournament.
Djokovic was the defending champion while in the women’s event, it’s Kazakh girl Elena Rybakina who won Wimbledon 2022, and they’ll both be in focus at this year’s event as well.
