So much drama has unfurled in the last 24 hours or so with regards to the world’s number #1 tennis player, Novak Djokovic. He got a medical exemption to play the 2022 Australian Open without a vaccination as everyone needs one. Then, he travels to Australia only to get denied entry into the country, while also being quizzed at the airport.
While there’s the possibility that the Australian government is at fault, social media has taken this opportunity to have a nice, good swing at the Serbian tennis player. In fact, hours after hearing the news of his denied entry, #NoVax started trending on Twitter along with #NoVaxDjokovic. It’s because of his anti-vaccine policy in the past, and how he needs an exemption to play in Grand Slams.

Most of the tweets on this topic are against Djokovic and how he shouldn’t be allowed to play, but we should inform you that he didn’t go against the rules and turn up at Australia. The rules say that players must be vaccinated or have a medical exemption, and he had the latter. But the trolls on Twitter have even gone to the extent of saying that the exemption papers are unverified and not genuine!
While there are a lot of jokes about how Novak’s team messed up the Visa requirements and that’s why he’s denied entry, there’s also the conspiracy theory. It’s rumoured that Scott Morrison is using this as a diversion at the moment to cover up the mess in the country right now due to Covid-19. Do we really think a pro player who has travelled the world for 15+ years will mess up on a Visa?!
