What are seeds in tennis?

Seeds are a type of rankings that are used to separate the top players from the rest of the players in any Grand Slam tournament in tennis. It’s given so that the top players don’t end up playing each other in the early stages of the competition, with the intention of the top two seeds meeting in the final of the event. Seeds are based on current rankings and form as the strongest players in the field currently.

Like we’ve mentioned above, these aren’t the final seedings as the qualifiers are yet to take place and the final draw yet to be made for the 2022 Australian Open. It’s likely there could be some drop outs from this list of top players in the 2022 Australian Open as well, which we will update when we have the confirmation.
