Tim David goes to Mumbai Indians for IPL 2022

Earlier known as a wicket-keeper batsman, it turns out he’s a big smasher of the ball, can roll his arm over too, and not to forget his amazing abilities in the field. That’s some of the reasons that led him to being picked by Royal Challengers Bangalore last season as a replacement player, after initially being UNSOLD in the auction.

He’s played multiple leagues around the world ever since and is currently dazzling in the Pakistan Super League 2022 as well, where he plays for Multan Sultans. He’s scored 24, 34, 51*, 71, 28* in his last five PSL 2022 outings, peaking right before the IPL 2022 Auction, and all of these knocks have come at an impressive strike rate of 206 in the season. Now, he’ll represent Mumbai in IPL 2022.

Though he was signed by RCB last season, he only got to play one game where he was dismissed for 1 run. However, he’s set to be a regular part of IPL 2022 considering his recent exploits in Pakistan, where the pitch conditions are more or less similar to what we can expect in India. He’s the ideal T20 finisher and his ability to bowl when needed and be a livewire in the field are added benefits.

In the auction, he was hot property even though his name was drawn on Day 2 of the IPL 2022 mega auction. Kolkata, Mumbai, Rajasthan, Lucknow, Delhi and Punjab were seen bidding for him, and that just shows how important a player he is to any squad. Eventually, the battle was between KKR and MI for the longest time and the latter outbid their opponents to get this Singaporean cricketer.
