Cristiano Ronaldo Scores 2 in Return Game For Man Utd

If you don’t believe in fairy tales, then you clearly haven’t been following the life and career of Cristiano Ronaldo. A few weeks ago, the world of football was rejoicing as one of the greatest of all time was making a historic transfer from Juventus in Italy to a club in England who he had last played for a decade ago – Manchester United.

People doubted his skill level and of course, age is a factor when you’re 36 years old. But Ronaldo is not just planning his season but his next 3-4 years at this club that he’s always referred to as ‘Home’ and where his real rise to fame began. Today was an iconic day at Old Trafford in Manchester, where Ronaldo was picked in the starting eleven against Newcastle United, for his ‘second debut’ for the club.

And just in case this fairy tale was not enough, he decided to make it even sweeter for himself and his fans by scoring on his return to the club after a dozen years. On the stroke of half-time, CR7 took advantage of a slip-up by the goal-keeper and from his position, all he needed to do was guide the ball into the net and take the home team 1-0 up. More importantly, he scored for Manchester United after 12 years.

It’s not many footballers who get to write such a script but then again, Ronaldo is not just your usually iconic player. He’s a legend who has always made things happen for himself. The stadium (and Manchester United fans across the world) erupted in joy after his goal but Newcastle was quick to equalise in the second half, levelling 1-1 in the 56th minute.

Cristiano then thought it would be nice for him to score on the other side of the pitch as well, putting in another one in the 62nd minute and taking United up once again, scoring twice for Man United on return to the club. The entire team seemed to be pumped up with the energy CR7 has brought them and Bruno Fernandes and Jesse Lingard also scored, giving them a 4-1 victory at home.

Newspapers and websites across the world are only going to talk about one thing today. It’s not the Premier League game week or United’s victory but it’s going to be that Cristiano Ronaldo scored twice on his return to the Red Devils. It’s the perfect start to a new beginning for Ronaldo and here’s a look at his second goal of the night:
