See Shoaib Malik Bat With Fork in Shoe

We often call the Caribbean Premier League the biggest party in sport and the statement keeps proving itself from time to time. Another day in the CPL 2021 season and another reason for entertainment, this time provided by Pakistan’s Shoaib Malik who made the move from Barbados and now represents the Guyana Amazon Warriors in the CPL T20.

Batting yesterday, he found it really tough to score runs, getting a very scratchy 12-ball 5, which is super slow for a T20 game. The super experienced T20 veteran wasn’t able to bring out some of his best shots yesterday but he still gave us all a reason to smile, and in fact laugh. While batting, Malik was found to have a fork stuck to his shoe, which he was unaware of for a while.

The plastic fork seems to have got stuck under his boot while walking to the pitch, and it was well caught by the stump camera as well. It was only later that he realised it, spotted it and the game took a small pause while he got a fork out of his shoe. Images went viral on social media and Malik was heavily trolled by his fans and followers as well.

Eventually, St Kitts and Nevis Patriots went on to thrash the Guyana Amazon Warriors in CPL 2021 Match 5 and surely, this fork didn’t bring any luck to Malik and his Guyana franchise. After this loss, Guyana moved to fourth place on the CPL 2021 points table, with only 1 victory in their 3 games so far this season.

In other news, we found some rumours online of Nicholas Pooran and 2 other players from the Guyana team being investigated for match-fixing after a series of wides and poor deliveries which led to them eventually losing the game.
