Rumour: Krunal Pandya Retires After MI Snub

It’s a 90% chance that what we’re going to be speaking about is fake but there are some rumours doing the rounds on social media of Krunal Pandya announcing his retirement from all forms of cricket after Mumbai Indians failed to retain him in the IPL 2022 retention list. The rumours began on Twitter with a typed letter with Krunal’s signature on it.

Rumour: Krunal Pandya Retires After MI Snub

The letter speaks about how he feels very heartbroken with the news of Mumbai Indians not retaining him ahead of IPL 2022. Additionally, it says that his heart beats only for MI and that he can’t think of playing for another franchise. He added that he knows that he doesn’t have a chance of making the playing eleven for Team India, and hence the decision to retire.

He mentions that after considering future possibilities and his age, which is only 30 years, he’s decided to quit from all forms of cricket. We at Read Scoops realised that it’s fake after the next line mentions how Ambani (Mukesh) promised on his mother that he’d retain Krunal and that he latter feels hurt after the snub.

Unfortunately, his Hardik Pandya was also released from the Mumbai Indians IPL 2022 retention list, with the four names being picked included Rohit Sharma, Suryakumar Yadav, Jasprit Bumrah and Kieron Pollard. Today was the final day of the deadline to submit the IPL 2020 retention lists and all of the franchises submitted their lists today. See the tweet here:

It’s said that both the Pndya brothers may be targetted by one of the new franchises at the IPL 2022 Auction, most possibly the Ahmedabad team. We’ll be back with more news about the retention lists for all the teams ahead of the IPL 2022 auction.
