Probably the worst time in the history of the country, Afghanistan has been suffering big time. We’re talking about the Taliban takeover of the country, with social media talking about ‘Afghanistan has fallen’. It’s been a complete mess and lives are being lost amidst the chaos and ruckus, and you can read all about the happenings in the country here.
Everything is going to be affected because of this hostile takeover, including the government, economy, trade, world relations and of course, sports. One of the biggest sports stars from the country is Rashid Khan and the youngster expressed concern of worry, of not being able to get his family out of the mess taking place in Afghanistan right now.

Currently, the leg-spin wizard is playing in The Hundred in England where he picked up a match-winning 3/16 against Manchester Originals, despite knowing the state of his country back home. Rashid is playing for the Trent Rockets and is lighting up the tournament, but he’s surely not at rest. He posted an Instagram story saying ‘Can’t Sleep‘.
“There’s a lot of things that are happening at home. We had a long chat here on the boundary talking about it and he’s worried; he can’t get his family out of Afghanistan and there’s a lot of things happening for him,” revealed former England cricketer who is working with the Sky Sports broadcasting team at the inaugural edition of The Hundred in UK.
It’s a horrible situation right now in Afghanistan and we pray that everyone gets through the tough times there.
