Over the years, we got accustomed to seeing our very own bhai, Salman Khan hosting what has become India’s most popular television reality show, Bigg Boss. Fourteen seasons of the show have been completed and now, there’s a completely new concept released for Bigg Boss fans across the country, one which is happening for the first time and won’t be aired on mainstream television channels.
What is Bigg Boss OTT?
While Bigg Boss usually airs on Colors, this show known as Bigg Boss OTT is a digital-only series and the first season of the show kicked off recently. It is being aired on Viacom18’s OTT platform Voot, and that’s one of the reasons for the name of the reality show. Bigg Boss: Over-The-Top premiered on 8th August on Voot and Voot Select, and is being hosted by Bollywood producer, Karan Johar.

The show is set to stream for six weeks and if we’ve heard right, it will merge into Bigg Boss 15 which will begin within that time frame as well. The digital Bigg Boss has some new features for the audience including nominations, punishments and report cards, while as per rules of OTT platforms, you can get rid of censorship that you usually have to deal with while watching Bigg Boss on Colors.

The concept is a bit different as the season’s theme of ‘Stay Connected’ sees 6 boys and 7 girls entering the Bigg Boss OTT house as pairs, while one contestant entered alone.
