Caribbean cricket is always exciting and it gets even more entertaining when it is in the shortest form of the game. Post Covid-19 lockdown, many new fast-paced cricket tournaments emerged, and one of them was the Dream11 Nature Isle T10. The tournament is based out of Roseau in the Caribbean island of Dominica and it has grown to become a popular league since its first edition in 2022.
Unlike T20 leagues, these tournaments are shorter and that’s why, more than one edition can be held per year. Quite a few of the consistent Nature Isle T10 performers over the seasons ave gone on to get national recognition for West Indies and CPL franchise teams too. The first edition took place in May-June 2022 and that was taken down by Barana Aute Warriors who won Nature Isle T10 Season 1 by a convincing margin of 8 wickets, thanks mostly to a good cameo of 52* by Mervin Mathew at the top. From there, the Aute Warriors went on to make the final once again in December that year in Season 2, this time coming second to Champagne Reef Divers.

Finalists in Season 1 India River Rowers went on to become finalists in Nature Isle T10 Season 3 again, but once again, they ended up on the losing side, this time second to the Valley Hikers. And while a couple of teams have made the final on a couple of occasions each, no team has gone on to win the tournament on two separate occasions. In terms of top performers in the finals of these tournaments, it’s always been someone who can put up a big score while on one occasion, Ryshon Williams stood up with the ball in a low-scoring encounter in May-June 2023.
These teams all had one icon player each when the league first launched but as time passes and this tournament gets more famous, we expect to see more big names emerging from the T10 circuit in Dominica.
