Mitchell Johnson Finds Snake in Lucknow Hotel Room

Once one of the most feared pacers in international cricket, today Australia’s Mitchell Johnson is taking it easy in life post retirement. The 40-year old recently signed up to play in the 2022 Legends League Cricket T20 tournament which is the second edition of this event, and something interesting happened to him in the first few days into the tournament itself.

He didn’t bat or bowl in the exhibition game on 16th Sep 2022 between India and the Rest of the World but he had a bigger role to play in the first official game of the series. He picked on wicket and scored 5* in that game in Kolkata, before moving to Lucknow where his team India Capitals will play their next game. However, the real fun happened for him before any match today.

A few hours ago, the left-arm pacer took to his Instagram account to share a picture of a snake just roaming about by the door in his hotel room in Lucknow. The post included a couple of pictures of the snake with the caption, “Anyone know what type of snake 🐍 this is?? Just hanging out in my room door 🤗”

He followed this up a few hours later with a better picture of the snake and he was clearly enjoying photographing the incident rather than panicking. “Found a better pic of this snakes head. Still unsure what it is exactly. Interesting stay so far in Lucknow, India 🥳” was the caption of his follow up post, and he got a lot of attention in the form of comments from other former cricketers and colleagues.

Among the other pacers who commented on Johnson’s posts were Brett Lee and Vernon Philander, who were pretty threatening pacers in their prime as well. Many other users joked around, with one user comparing the snake to Bangladesh cricket team’s ‘Naagin’ dance. “Pls ask from Bangladeshi’s cricket team 🐍” commented that user.

The LLC T20 Season 2 is running alongside the Road Safety World Series 2022 which is another league meant for retired players from across the world. Yesterday, Brad Haddin hit three consecutive boundaries to lead Australia Legends to victory against Bangladesh Legends, and one user commented on Mitch’s snake post saying, “Came after Hadds amazing finish yesterday 🙌”.

While the snake in his room was the biggest matter of the day, we’re hoping to see him in the news for his bowling and batting in games to come at the LLC T20 Season 2 tournament in the days and weeks to come. For similar updates on cricket and for similar sports news from around the world, keep reading ReadScoops.com
