IPL 2024: WOW Moment as Virat Kohli, Gautam Gambhir Hug

We see fours and sixes, and great fielding quite often in the Indian Premier League. We see stumps flying and cheerleaders dancing. We see a lot of controversial fights too. But since it’s a gentleman’s game, we also love to see those fights being resolved and two rivals getting together and sharing a hug every now and then.

The last time Virat Kohli and Gautam Gambhir clashed was in IPL 2023 when an RCB vs LSG game took place and the two boys from Delhi got into a huge tangle. Since then, Gambhir moved to Kolkata Knight Riders and today was the first time they’ve played each other after the fight. However, there was no further action as the two met each other and made up.

The video was shown on the big screen during the first innings of today’s RCB vs KKR IPL 2024 match at Chinnawamy, and the moment took place during the 1st innings time-out. There wasn’t any animosity left as Gambhir intentionally walked towards Kohli and the two shared a hug as well as a smile on the field, in front of millions of spectators around the world.

As the entire KKR camp was on the field, Gambhir walked towards Kohli and grabbed him by the waist, laughing and talking something animatedly. The crowd actually got very quiet as they saw this on the big screen, like they were a little disappointed. They wanted action but this kind of action was also pretty good to see.

Earlier this year, Kohli met against Afghanistan where he made peace with Naveen ul Haq as well. Naveen was the Afghan pacer who began the fight with Kohli at IPL 2023, before Gambhir got into the mix as well. Now in the matter of a year, Kohli seems to have sorted out his issue with both of Naveen and Gautam. And still, people think VK is arrogant?!

In the match, Kohli got his second consecutive fifty of IPL 2024, while also bagging the Orange Cap after his effort of 83*. However, it wasn’t enough as RCB went on to lose to KKR, and with that, the tournament saw it’s first result where the home team hasn’t gone on to win, in Match 10 of the season now.

Kohli leads Heinrich Klaasen by a few runs on the IPL 2024 Orange Cap leaderboard, though he’s played one more game than Klaasen so far. The SRH batter from South Africa has two fifties in 2 games and everyone believes he’s the best batter in the world in the T20 format right now. But, can he be consistent enough to win the Orange Cap this season?
