The third edition of Global T20 Canada is here and with it is plenty of opportunities for local players from that part of the world who usually don’t get this kind of a stage or platform. There are six teams participating in GT20 Canada 2023 and two of them are playing in their debut season as well, while the other four have played in at least one other edition in the past.
The teams are Montreal Tigers, Vancouver Knights, Brampton Wolves, Mississauga Panthers, Surrey Jaguars, and Toronto Nationals. Players from all across the world were considered for this event but because it’s coinciding with the Zim Afro T10 and the MLC 2023 season, along with 2-3 international tours, quite a few modifications had to be made. Afghanistan’s Karim Janat and Australia’s Jason Behrendorff pulled out from the tournament in June 2023, while the likes of Andre Russell and others currently playing in Major League Cricket in Australia, will fly in to Canada after the completion of that tournament.
