It’s been a long season which began in December last year and we’ve finally reached the end of the 2020/21 Super Smash T20. This year, the women’s and men’s tournament were played side by side, with the same fixtures as well. In the women’s tournament, we have Canterbury W playing Wellington W in the final that will take place earlier on the same day at the Basin Reserve in Wellington.
It’s a weird coincidence that the same franchises reached the final of the 2020/21 Men’s Super Smash with Wellington Firebirds topping the table and booking a direct spot in the final with 9 wins in 10 games. They play Canterbury Kings in the final and they had 6 wins in 10 games in the league stage before beating Central Districts in the qualifying final.
