21:40 IST: SL was struggling at 7/2 in the first three overs but Pathum Nissanka seems determined to get them back on track. He hit a couple of boundaries and scored 15 runs off the fourth over which was bowled by Hasan Ali. SL 22/2 after 4 overs and Nissanka is batting on 16*, looking good to take them to the finish line.

21:28 IST: Spin was the destructive weapon for Sri Lanka but Pakistan seems to be doing well with pace. Haris Rauf shared the new ball with Mohammad Hasnain and he got Danushka Gunathilaka for a duck as well. OUT!!! Sri Lanka 2/2 in the second over after the batsman chased a wide and short ball which got an edge through to the keeper. Brilliant diving catch by Rizwan!

21:22 IST: Golden duck for Kusal Mendis. OUT!!! Just the second ball of the innings and Mendis nicks a good length delivery to first slip. He goes for 0(1) and they are 1/1 early on in the chase. Danushka Gunathilaka is the next man in.

21:00 IST: In the last 10 minutes, we’ve seen a couple of vital boundaries from Mohammad Nawaz. However, on 17.5 overs, when Usman Qadir would’ve done brilliantly by just taking a single, he decided to slog one himself and was dismissed for 3(6). OUT!!! But senseless batting really. 110/8 Pakistan, with 13 balls to go and Nawaz trying to get them to a decent score.

20:51 IST: Last ball of the 16th over and Theekshana gets his first wicket. Hasan Ali skies one and is OUT!!! for just 0(2). Pakistan 95/7 and they’re not going to be able to make a match of this. Point to note here is that the spinners have done brilliantly and Nawaz will be looking to replicate the same.

20:46 IST: First ball duck for Asif Ali. OUT!!! Last ball of the 15th over and last of Hasaranga’s spell. He bowls the wrong one and Asif Ali misses it, only to hear the sound of timber right behind him. Pakistan 91/6 now after 15 overs and they sink deeper. The leg-spinner ends his spell with figures of 3/21 in 4 overs.

20:44 IST: Wanindu Hasaranga was bowling out and he got a wicket after being hit by Iftikhar Ahmed for the first six of the innings and the match. 14.5 overs – Iftikhar misses the slop sweep and gets bowled for 13(17). OUT!!! Pakistan clearly struggling now.

20:38 IST: Dhananjaya de Silva gets a wicket in his final over. OUT!!! 13.3 overs – Bowling to Khushdil Shah, the batsman stepped out and tried to slog, but only managed to hit it to the hands of Pathum Nissanka at long-on. Pakistan 82/4 as Shah goes for 4(8) and Mohammad Nawaz is the new batsman in.

20:27 IST: Third wicket goes and it’s the big fish. 10.4 overs – Wanindu Hasaranga in his third over and he hits timber after Babar Azam was deceived, trying to play for the spin. OUT!!! for a troublesome 30(29). First over after the drinks break and the message may have been to get a move on. Sri Lanka ahead now as Khushdil Shah makes his way to the center.

20:22 IST: Sri Lanka keep tightening the screws. 66/2 after 10 overs. Chamika Karunaratne was introduced to the attack for the first time and he gave away only 4 singles in the over. More importantly, he struck on his second delivery after Fakhar Zaman chased a short and wide ball. OUT!!! Zaman goes for 13(18). Iftikhar Ahmed is the new batsman in now.

20:15 IST: Two really tight overs from the Sri Lankan spinners – DDS and Hasaranga. Pakistan 62/1 after 9 overs but the worrying part for SL is that their opponents have plenty of wickets in hand going into the second half of this innings. Khushdil, Asif Ali, Nawaz, and more to follow.

20:07 IST: 53/1 after 7 overs. Wanindu Hasaranga was introduced into the attack and bowled a tight over for only 4 runs. Fakhar Zaman seems to be struggling against the leg-spin and this bowler’s remaining 3 overs will be super important today.
