Only Murders in The Building – S02 E08 Update

We at Read Scoops have been following ‘Only Murders in The Building‘ and we’ve currently reached Season 2 Episode 8 of this show, which had a fairly successful first season, but a much scatted second season so far. Episodes release once a week and we recently saw ‘Hello Darkness’ episode which released on 9th August, and we’re here to give you a written update of the same.

In the episode, a city-wide blackout takes place and the mystery takes a new turn at the end. It begins with Charles’ step-daughter Lucy in grave danger as the blackout begins, with the murderer breaking into his house and aiming to kill her (as shown that he had an image of her in his bag). However, Lucy was quick to run away and protect herself in the building’s secret passageways.

OMITB Season 2 Episode 8

Just as the protagonists Mabel, Charles, and Oliver manage to catch up with the person running after Lucy, it turned out to be a false lead as it was ‘Marv‘ who was under the mask. Marv is an OMITB fan who heard that Lucy was in danger and in fact went to save her. Lucy even confirmed that he isn’t the killer and that he in fact scared away the killer in the passageways. Marv was also testing his ‘Sixth Avenue Slasher’ theory which fan fiction made to find the killer.

On the other hand, an important development takes place in the life of Arconia resident Howard Morris. He turns out to be gay and starts hitting on a new character who recently started sub-letting a flat on his floor. While his name was not taken right through the episode, the character was played by Jason Veasey. Once again, there’s the angle of a love interest being the suspect, as was Mabel’s girlfriend Alice.

It makes us wonder what Veasey’s background is and why he was introduced into the show so late into Season 2. Maybe it’s just to throw the audience off and create a new suspect like it did with Alice. However, the end of the episode gives a clear indication as to who the killer may be, as Mabel speaks to Detective Kreps and notices leftover glitter and the back of his ear.

Mabel freaks out seeing this as she was chasing ‘Glitter Person’ all over town on this day but ended up chasing a ghost as she didn’t get anything out of it. Maybe there’s a twist here as well, because we think they’ll all gang up to prove Kreps as the killer like they did with Teddy Dimas and his son, Theo Dimas.

There are plenty of more mysteries to come in Only Murders in the Building and a couple of more episodes left in the season. We’re set for a grand finish and we hope it’s as exciting as the first season finale. For similar entertainment news from around the world, stay tuned to ReadScoops.com
