Who is Olympic Coach Dean Boxall?

You don’t need to be a fan of sports or to be following the ongoing Tokyo Olympics 2020 to know about this man we’re going to be speaking about. It’s Dean Boxall who got super famous all across the internet because of a minute’s frenzy at the Olympic Games. His swimmer won a gold medal in one of the Olympic events earlier today, and his happiness couldn’t be controlled within.

Who is Olympic Coach Dean Boxall?

The swimmer was Australia’s Ariarne Titmus and the event was Women’s 400m freestyle. When she was announced winner and that she’ll be getting a piece of gold to take back home, Boxall went crazy on the balcony where he was seated and was watching the race. He ran up and down, tore of his mask, held the railing and went berserk in celebration. The internet was won over with the videos that surfaced online!

So who is Dean Boxall?

The South African born is in his 40s and as you already know now, he’s an Olympic coach. He has a team of 6 swimmers under his guidance at Olympics 2021 and three gold medals have already been bagged. Meg Harris and Mollie O’Callaghan were part of the 4x100m relay team that won gold on Sunday, while Titmus brought him yet an honour on Monday, 26th July 2021.

Backstroker Mitch Larkin is also a part of his team who will contest for gold on Tuesday while Abbey Harkin is another member of his team, who will be in action in the 200m breaststroke later this week. Freestyle swimmer Elijah Winnington and New Zealand’s Eve Thomas are also under his guidance in Tokyo 2020 right now.

As per what we’ve heard, Boxall also coaches a Brisbane-based swim club, St Peters Western that has gone on to see other Olympic swimmers as well. He’s been coaching for over 2 decades now and has grown to have a reputation of being one of the rock-star swimming coaches in the country.
