It was a very unfortunate start to the month of December for Indians as the Chief of Defence Staff of the Indian Armed Forces passed away on 8th December 2021 in a tragic helicopter crash which carried 13 people. All but one person passed away in the crash and the loss of 63-year old General Bipin Rawat is a sad one indeed.
If you’ve read the title, you’re wondering what relation Bipin Rawat had with a sports channel? It was May/June 2021 when most of the country (especially sports fans) were introduced to General Rawat for the first time as he was part of a TV ad campaign that supported the Indian athletes participating in the 2021 Tokyo Olympic Games in Japan.

Quite a few big names were a part of this campaign and that’s when even we at Read Scoops first knew about General Rawat. His video message for the Indian athletes made a huge difference and of course, Sony Pictures Sports Network was quick to post a condolence video after the news of him passing away.
