Wimbledon 2022 quarter final – David Goffin vs Cameron Norrie
Both these players have come further than they were expected to travel in the Wimbledon 2022 ATP draw. As for David Goffin, he’s been around since years but is unseeded at this tournament. The 31-year old Belgian has reached the quarter final of a grand slam only for the fourth time in his 10+ year career since his grand slam debut, including a second QF at Wimbledon. He’s a big value underdog at odds of 3.15 with ComeOn Sport.
At the other side of the net is the 26-year old British player Cameron Norrie, who is seeded number #9 in this tournament and this is a very special game for him as it’s his maiden appearance in a grand slam quarter final. He hadn’t even reached Round 4 of a slam before and he’s going pretty well so far. He starts as favourite against Goffin to go on and make this slam even better by reaching the semi final, at pre-match odds of 1.37 with ComeOn.
Wimbledon 2022 so far
It was a breeze through the first couple of sets for Goffin as he beat both of Radu Albot and number #31 seed Sebastian Baez in straight sets each. Then, he lost the opening set against an in-form Ugo Humbert before making an amazing comeback to win the next three sets. As for his Round 4 match, he had a 4:36 hours game against number #23 seed Frances Tiafoe and we think that would’ve taken a whole lot out of him.

As for Norrie, he beat Pablo Andujar easily in the opening round and then went on to have a 5-set battle with Jaume Antony Munar Clar in Round 2. He followed that up with two more straight sets victories against Steve Johnson and the umber #30 seed Tommy Paul. He’s spent much less time on court recently and has got a big chance to get through, though we think both players will win at least a set each. There’s decent value on Norrie to win 3-1 sets at odds of 4.10 on ComeOn!
David Goffin vs Cameron Norrie – head to head
These two talented players have only played once before and Norrie leads the head-to-head count 1-0. They played at Barcelona in an outdoor clay tournament in 2021 in the Round of 16 where Goffin won the first set 6-0 and was trailing 3-5 in the second set before he was forced to retire hurt. Clearly, he’s in with a chance if he could beat Norrie 6-0 in that opening set in Barcelona. Fatigue could be his only shortcoming here.
