In the men’s tournament, Rafael Nadal won a historic 14th title at Roland Garros and we’re now all looking forward to the third slam of the year – Wimbledon 2022!
Easily the most prestigious of the four grand slams and also the oldest of the lot, The Championships, Wimbledon takes place in London each year, and this year will be as exciting as any other. Wimbledon 2022 Dates
As does every other grand slam major, this tournament will also take place over a couple of weeks. Wimbledon 2022 dates were out a few months ago itself and it’s scheduled to take place between 27 June – 10 July 2022. The first round will last between 27-28 and it keeps progressing until the mega men’s final will be played on 10th July, with the women’s final scheduled for a day earlier.
The grass court event is sure to generate attention from millions of tennis fans from around the world but first, the qualifiers will happen before the main draw. Wimbledon 2022 qualifiers dates are also out, scheduled between Monday 20th June and Thursday 23rd June. We’ve seen some success stories come out of these stages as well, so beware.

Wimbledon 2022 withdrawals
We’re expecting some high-octane tennis action in both men’s and women’s draws but there are some withdrawals going into Wimbledon 2022. Firstly, the Wimbledon 2021 women’s champs Ashleigh Barty won’t be participating as she’s now retired from the game, while a lingering left Achilles injury ruled out Naomi Osaka as well.
Dominic Thiem has also pulled out to play another tournament in Salzburg at the time, while Alexander Zverev will miss the event because of a surgery from an injury received during the French Open 2022 game against Nadal. Former finalist Eugenie Bouchard has withdrawn because WTA not awarding tanking points at the tournament.
Additionally, players from Russia and Belarus have been banned from Wimbledon 2022! This means the likes of Karen Khachanov, Daniil Medvedev, Ilya Ivashka, Aslan Karatsev and Andrey Rublev will miss out in the men’s draw. Roger Federer and Kei Nishikori are also not on the entry list for Wimbledon 2022.
Wimbledon 2022 Schedule
Like we mentioned above, Round 1 will take place between 27-28 June while Round 2 takes place between 29-30 June. Round 3, Round 4, and the quarter finals will all take two days each after that, while the men’s semi finals are schedule for 8th July and the Wimbledon 2022 final for 10th July 2022.
