Easily one of the most popular sports in the world, it’s not uncommon for us to see big celebrities come to watch major tennis games across the world. This is especially true for grand slams, when it gets to the business stages of the competitions. Currently, US Open 2023 is underway, which is the last slam of the year, and we’ve seen quite a few known actors and other celebrities in attendance in New York.
In the first of the men’s semi finals, we had Ben Shelton vs Novak Djokovic in action and this was an unseeded local boy playing against the number #2 seed and one of the greatest of all time in men’s professional tennis. And to witness some of the best tennis action of the season, quite a few known celebrities were in attendance, including actors John Krasinski and Emily Blunt.

The couple is a very well known one, with plenty of work done in recent years. Recently known for his lead role in three seasons of Jack Ryan on Amazon Prime, Krasinski was also known for his role as Jim in the American rendition of ‘The Office’. They were spotted by the cameraman early in the first set itself, when Djokovic was leading 2-1 and the game was still on-serve. From there however, Djokovic had the early break in the first set. And while he looked comfortable to break again and take the first set 6-2, Shelton managed to save three set points to come back to 3-5. Exciting tennis within the first hour itself!

Charlize Theron at US Open 2023
As the game goes on, we’re sure that there will be many more such celebrities spotted in the stands. Before the end of the first set itself, the cameraman moved his lens towards Hollywood actress Charlize Theron, looking comfortable in a white outfit. The 48-year old ‘Mad Max’ actress was recently seen on screen in Fast X as well. Here’s her at the Shelton vs Djokovic semi final:

Shelton tried to break back in the first set but he couldn’t and Djokovic eventually won 6-3. Now, we’re going to sit back and enjoy the rest of what’s expected to be a thrilling game.
