It’s going to be one hell of a party with some intense tennis action taking place at US Open 2022.

The hard surface tournament will see the men’s and women’s tournaments taking place simultaneously over a 2-week period as it always is at these majors. US Open 2022 Dates

Daniil Medvedev and Emma Raducanu were the men’s and women’s singles respective winners at US Open 2021 and both will find it difficult to defend their titles here. Medvedev hasn’t won a slam since then and neither has Raducanu. The dates of this tournament is very similar to the time it takes place every year, this time scheduled between 29 August – 11 September 2022.

29 Aug is when the main draw will begin and prior to that, there will be the US Open 2022 Qualifiers as well. The four rounds of qualifying will take place between 23-26 Aug 2022 from Tuesday through Friday and then, there will be a couple of days break for the qualifiers too, before the main draw begins on 29 Aug.

US Open 2022 withdrawals

We’re still a week away from the start of 2022 US Open tennis tournament (updated 23rd August 2022) and there are a few confirmed withdrawals as yet due to injuries, Covid-19, illness, change in rules, etc. Reilly Opelka pulled out (without stating any reasons) which allowed Jack Sock to enter the main draw, while Rafael Nadal was bumped to the second seed after Alexander Zverev pulled out.

Nadal was in doubt because of an injury sustained in the Wimbledon 2022 semi final but he’s made it while Novak Djokovic is yet to confirm his participation because of USA vaccination rules. The seeds will be changed again if he has to pull out. Roger Federer hasn’t played a grand slam since the 2021 Wimbledon, missing four on the trot. India’s Sania Mirza hurt her elbow and has also pulled out of US Open 2022.

US Open 2022 Schedule

Once the main draw begins, there are two days given to every round. Round 1 will take place on 29-30 Aug, followed by Round 2 on 31 Aug-1 Sep. This includes the US Open 2022 schedule for both men’s and women’s games. Round 3 will take place between 2-3 Sep while the fourth round us scheduled between 4-5 Sep.

It goes on the same way with the women’s singles final on 10 Sep and the men’s singles final on 11 Sep 2022. The daily draw will be out when the qualifiers are done and the seeds are arranged.
