2:50pm GMT: On serve in the final set. 3-3!

2:25pm GMT: We had a little bit of a break as Pavlyuchenkova took a medical timeout on the court. It seems like the Russian was facing some sort of issue with serving due to trouble in the groin area. However, she came back and took the second set 6-2. We’re in for a fun third set!

2:0pm GMT: Pavlyuchenkova leads 4-1 in the second set. The encouraging part is that she’s managed to bring out her game on to court, which was definitely missing in the first set. If she gets this one, we could be in for an interesting final set.

1:50pm GMT: First time Pavlyuchenkova looks halfway decent. She holds serve and then breaks to take an early 2-0 lead in the second set. Much needed mini comeback from her.

1:40pm GMT: May just be an early evening for all. Easy first set. 30 minutes on the clock and Krejčíková wins 6-1 after being broken in the first game of the set.

1:35pm GMT: Krejčíková breaks and breaks again. Her opponent is making too many unforced errors and is even missing overhead smashes. The Czech player leads 5-1 and will be serving for the first set now.

1:25pm GMT: After both players having their serves broken, we have the first service hold of the game and Krejčíková leads 2-1, 15 minutes into the game. Some good shots and some nerves being shown already.

French Open 2021 Final – Krejčíková vs Pavlyuchenkova Preview

Four Grand Slams are played every year and one of them is the French Open 2021 for this year. Typically, these slams last for a couple of weeks each and now, we’ve reach the end of this 2021 Roland Garros tournament, with only the women’s and men’s finals left to be played out. Today, 11th June, we have the French Open 2021 Final where Barbora Krejčíková will be taking on Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova.

With so many big names out of the tournament early in the WTA competition, we’ve reached a surprising final where no big wigs will e participating. On one hand is the 25-year old Czech Republic unseeded player Krejčíková who has had a spirited journey so far. She however, will be battling fatigue after a super long battle with Greek player Maria Sakkari who she beat 9-7 in the third set!

She plays the Russian 29-year old Pavlyuchenkova who has been playing professional tennis since the last 15 years now and after a long break, she’s back to the top. She’s seeded #31 in this tournament and after having three consecutive 3-set games, she got through in straight sets in her semi final against Tamara Zidansek, so will be slightly fresher for this 2021 French Open women’s final.
