It’s no longer a personal health choice. It’s a matter of national health and in fact, global security. The more reckless we are, the more lives we’re putting in danger. This coronavirus is no joke, for sure. And if the known entities, celebrities and sportspeople who we all look up to can’t set a right example, then I don’t know who can and who will!
With COVID-19 spreading quick across the nation, the Indian government has a 14-day quarantine rule in place for all people coming in from abroad. However, no one seems to be interested in following these rules, putting themselves above the law. The most recent to break the rule for ace Olympic-level boxer and Rajya Sabha MP, Mary Kom.
The 14-day quarantine was imposed by World Health Organisation (WHO) and governments around the world and Kom should’ve been slightly more intellectual about her decisions because novel coronavirus is transmitting from person to person like wildfire. One person can infects thousands and people breaking such rules should actually be answerable to the law.
As per reports, Mary Kom had recent travel history to Jordan and Italy and returned home only on 13th March, which means she should’ve been in self-isolation until at least 27th March, if not longer. Clearly, she considered herself above the law as she was spotted at a breakfast event held by President Ram Nath Kovind at the Rashtrapati Bhavan on 18th March.

At the same event, BJP’s Dushyant Singh was also in attendance, someone who was recently seen partying with Bollywood singer Kanika Kapoor, the latter also testing positive for coronavirus later. Basically, there’s a high chance that these two have put hundreds of others in danger, including the President of India. Irresponsibility at its peak!
The President himself will have to undergo a COVID-19 test for no real fault of his own. For more updates on this story and other similar updates on the spread of this virus in India, stay tuned to ReadScoops.com.
