Manchester United win 8/8 Under Ole Solskjaer

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is a football manager and former player who played most of his career with Manchester United. Recently, he took over the job of United manager, replacing the infamous Jose Mourinho and boy, he has been doing a fantastic job so far. United have been in a transition phase for far too long, but suddenly, things are looking up for them.

Under Solskjaer, Manchester United have now won 8 consecutive games, making a pretty average season look like a fairly decent one right now. They are currently ranked #6 on the EPL 2018/19 standings but last night was all about the FA Cup, where the team managed to knock out Arsenal in their 4th Round encounter.

Arsenal began as slight favourites but Solskjaer has been magical for United thus far, with experts believing that the team all look like ‘different players’ under him. This 4th Round game was played at the Emirates Stadium and Manchester United completed a 3-1 victory to knock out Arsenal from the competition, while completing eight consecutive wins under Solskjaer.

8/8 is quite an impressive record and this was possible thanks to goals in quick succession in the first half from Alexis Sanchez and Jesse Lingard. Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang pulled one back from Arsenal just before the break, but Anthony Martial scored in the 82nd minute to take United 3-1 up and that was enough to seal the game and ensure progression in the FA Cup.

“I thought there was a gulf between the two teams. At the start people accused Ole of winning easy games, then he went to Tottenham and won. The players that were not performing under Jose are now performing the way we knew they could. It was a brilliant performance from United. I think what we have seen from Ole is that it’s more than just giving people love, it is about tactical awareness,” said former United defender, Phil Neville.

Clearly, it has been more than just a luck run for Ole Solskjaer and Manchester United fans have a lot to look forward to in the weeks to come. Until then, keep reading ReadScoops.com for more FA Cup updates.
