If you don’t know as yet, you’ve clearly been living under a rock but we’re going to tell you anyway that Qatar will be hosting the 2022 FIFA World Cup and we’re now less than 12 months away. In fact, yesterday, 21st November 2021, marked exactly one year from today to Qatar 2022 and to celebrate the occasion, there was a brilliant drone show in Qatar’s Doha!
The drone show lights lit up the sky of Doha last night, but the countdown ceremony was held amidst the ongoing criticism and row over Qatar’s human rights record. In some brilliant and artistic work, the sky shone with the lights in the shape of a ball, which was soon followed by a player in the act of kicking it.

The climax was of course the Qatar 2022 logo and trust us, this has done its bit to build the hype, even though we’re still a year away. It was France who took down the title when the last FIFA World Cup took place in 2018 and that was a pre-Covid world. Now, the arrangements will be different and so will the dynamics of all the teams.
As we speak, qualifiers are still underway and we know we’re going to be in for a great tournament, as it always is. The drone show is one such surprise and we can’t imagine how much better it’s going to get in the months to come. Check out a user uploaded video of the show on YouTube here:
