When you talk about women’s cricket, there’s one legend who will be spoken about for years and decades to come. Possibly the best all-round cricketer in the history of the women’s game, Australia’s Ellyse Perry bats, bowls, and fields. And many critics and experts believe that she’s the best technical player of her era!
Today, they had an important match up against MI Women in a bid to make the WPL 2024 playoffs and RCB Women got into a fabulous position in the first innings itself, thanks to Perry’s brilliant spell with the ball. She wasn’t seen bowling before this in the TATA WPL 2024 season and she rocked the entire MI Women side with her stunning swing bowling.

Prior to today, only four women had picked WPL 5-fers including Tara Norris, Marizanne Kapp, and Kim Garth in WPL 2023, and then Ashana Sobhana earlier in WPL 2024. Today, Perry thrashed all those previous records, getting the second 5-wicket haul of WPL 2024 and also recording the first WPL 6-wicket haul to go with the record of the best WPL figures till date.

Social media has always been a big fan of Perry and her all-round abilities in cricket. Today, Twitter (now X) has gone berserk with Perry’s WPL 6-fer. She wrecked the MI Women batting lineup with all her dismissals being either bowled or LBW, attacking the stumps with every delivery. She ended with record figures of 6/15 and we’re bringing to you the best X reactions.

She’s always been one of the best players in women’s cricket and she finally brought her best to the Women’s Premier League in India as well. Perry also became the FIRST player in both men’s and women’s cricket with a century and 6-fer in all of first-class, List-A and T20 formats.
