When you think of international cricketers, you think of a position commanding respect and you expect national representatives to always behave in a decent manner. They are ambassadors for nations and they need to be well behaved at all times but sadly, we’ve seen Shakib al Hasan from Bangladesh get into some completely unaccepted and outright atrocious behaviour in a recent domestic T20 game in Dhaka.
Cricket fans would know about the Dhaka Premier Division T20 League going on right now and Shakib is also a part of this league. With 300+ international games under his belt and 14 international centuries along with plenty of achievements with the ball, he’s often known as one of the best cricketers to have emerged from this country. However, his on-field antics would’ve let him and his fans down today!
500+ runs in the ICC 2019 World Cup and being the former Bangladesh national side captain too, Shakib has never managed to stay away from controversies. It was only recently that he completed a 1-year suspension because of corruption, after having failed to have reported an approach from a bookie. Just as he made a comeback and was even seen in the IPL 2021 season briefly, he is back in the middle of trouble.

This time, it’s because of pathetic on-field behaviour during a Dhaka T20 game, where he yelled at the umpire after his LBW appeal was turned down. This also included kicking the bowling stumps and later in the same game, he managed to outdo himself. The second time, he ran all the way from his fielding position to the umpire and uprooted all the stumps in another fit of anger.
While we at Read Scoops are actually big fans of this magnificent all-rounder from Bangladesh, we’re deeply disappointed to have watched the video of these incidents. Now 34-years old, we could very well see the beginning of the end of Shakib’s career as a cricketer, Today, he didn’t help his cause at all. Take a look at the video:
