Twitter User Predicted Virat Kohli’s Score in 100th Test

We were all excited about the 100th Test of Virat Kohli that is taking place in Mohali as we type this. Today, 4th March 2022 was Day 1 of the 1st Test between India and Sri Lanka, and India decided to bat first after winning the toss. A couple of wickets fell and all eyes turned towards the former Indian captain Virat Kohli and speculation was on about whether he’d score his 71st century today or not!

And while the experts were giving their views on social media and on air, there was one particular user who tweeted 12 hours before his dismissal and her tweet turned out to be bang on! She predicted that Kohli won’t score a century but would in fact score 45 and that’s exactly the score he was dismissed off in the 1st innings on Day 1.

In fact, she didn’t just get the score right but she also predicted that Kohli would be dismissed by Lasith Embuldeniya, and she even got the mode of dismissal right. The user called shruti #100 predicted he’d score 45(100) but Kohli actually scored 45(76) but she was right about the score and even the fact that Embuldeniya would get him clean bowled.

This tweet has since then gone viral on social media, with people and cricket fans sharing it across platforms as well. We clearly have a brilliant Virat Kohli fan who knew about his weakness against left-arm spin, and predicted the right bowler to get him out. She even went on to tell us how he would react after getting out!

“Kohli Won’t score a 100 in his 100th test. Will score 45 (100) with 4 gorgeous cover drives and then Embuldeniya will knock his stumps over and he’ll pretend to be shocked 😳😳 and will nod his head in disappointment,” was the exact tweet by the user. After the dismissal, the tweet has gone viral with 5,000+ retweets in an hour after his dismissal.

Talking about the match though, it seems like a good batting track and everyone had a good opportunity to get big scores, but they didn’t. Both openers got starts and were dismissed in their twenties and thirties, while VK himself got dismissed in the forties. Hanuma Vihari got a chance to bat at number #3 and he also got dismissed shortly after getting to his fifty. At tea on Day 1, India was 199/4!
