Every year, we see some new records in terms of consecutive fifties, massive sixes, a century or two, and much more. However, there are some batsmen who have done this year over and have been super consistent, which Read Scoops will present to you in our complete list of the top 10 BBL run scorers of all-time, which is accurately updated as of 9th December 2022, before the BBL 12 season. 5) D’Arcy Short
From this list of the top 5 run scorers in the Big Bash, this guy has been around the shortest amount of time. While everyone else has been playing since the first season in 2011/12, he joined for BBL 2016 and has still managed to be so consistent over the years. The Hobart Hurricanes players has 2,553 runs in 72 career BBL games and also has the highest batting averages from everyone else on this list – 39.89.
4) Jonathan Wells
Like D’Arcy Short, the 34-year old was not in the top 5 BBL run scorers before the start of BBL 11 but a good show there ensure he makes this list. Having represented the Adelaide Strikers and Hobart Hurricanes, he’s scored 2,554 runs in his BBL career of 111 games, the latter being the most number of games than anyone else on this Big Bash League run scorers list.
3) Glenn Maxwell
Known as the ‘Big Show’, he’s been one of the best T20 players across the globe and the results have shown in the Big Bash as well. Here’s another player who began with Melbourne Renegades but scored most of his career BBL runs with the Melbourne Stars, who he is captaining right now. In 100 matches in this league, he’s amassed 2,673 runs with 18 fifties, has the highest strike rate on this list (150), and also holds the record for the highest individual BBL score – 154*!

2) Aaron Finch
Unlike the others below him in this list, here’s someone who has played his entire BBL career for the same franchise, Melbourne Renegades. He’s captained them for most seasons as well, and has managed to lead by example over the years. In 87 career BBL matches, he’s scored 2,817 runs for the Renegades and is also one of just eight batsmen who have 2 or more centuries in this league; his best score is 111*.
1) Chris Lynn
No one can escape the Lynnsanity when he’s on song. Like Finch, he’s played only for one franchise since the start of his BBL career and that’s the Brisbane Heat, but will move to Adelaide Strikers for BBL 12. He captained Heat for most seasons, relinquishing the role to Jimmy Peirson ahead of BBL 2021. He’s got 3,005 runs in 102 BBL matches and has the records for most fifties (24) and also for most sixes in the league (180). PS. No one after him has even hit 110 sixes!
