The only players from this list to have 5-fers in this tournament are Lasith Malinga, Ajantha Mendis, and Umar Gul. Mendis also holds the record for the best bowling spell in this competition, finishing with 6/8. Players to have narrowly missed the list of top ten highest wicket-takers in the T20 World Cup include Tim Southee, Mitchell Starc, and Dwayne Bravo, with Starc still having a chance to make the list.
