Stuart Broad Predicts Winner of 2021 T20 World Cup

Nowadays, it’s becoming very common for us to see present day cricketers doing small stints in the commentary box and as part of the broadcasting teams across the world. One such example was Dinesh Karthik during the 2021 WTC Final and more recently, English pacer Stuart Broad being a part of the Sky Sports commentary team in the 2021 England vs Pakistan T20 series.

Stuart Broad Predicts Winner of 2021 T20 World Cup

On 20th July, we had the 3rd T20 between the two teams and after a tough battle, it was England who got through in the final over and lifted the trophy for winning the series 2-1. In the post match show, we saw Ian Ward and Broad in deep conversation about the English tactics and their preparations ahead of the 2021 T20 World Cup, which was actually intended to be played last year but was delayed due to Covid-19.

As Broad dissected the day’s play, he also praised a number of the England cricketers, one being Adil Rashid. He called Rashid England’s best white ball bowler and that he has no idea why he’s not playing in franchise teams across the world, in leagues like the IPL in India. Further, he went on to praise Eoin Morgan’s captaincy and the newfound all-round talent in Liam Livingstone.

All of a sudden, he blurted out, “I think England is going to win the 2021 T20 World Cup.” After taking a bit of a breather, he repeated it again, citing a very deep squad strength, especially with the likes of Sam Curran, Ben Stokes and Jofra Archer not even a part of the current squad. England will have a big dilemma picking a squad of 15 players for the World Cup and Broad thinks that the right position to be in.

When he saw Morgan lifting the trophy, he knew that England is going to be crowned champions of the T20 World Cup, and if it happens, it will come 2 years after they were crowned ICC 2019 50-over World Cup champions as well.
