Apart from the major Indian Premier League (IPL), state associations also now have full-fledged T20 tournaments taking place and one of them is the Saurashtra Premier League (SPL T20). Launched in 2019, there have been two successful editions of the competition so far, and the third season is here at last, after facing an initial delay of a few months.
SPL 2023 was supposed to be held in June 2023 but because of some unforeseen issue, they had to reschedule to August 2023. Now, the tournament is here with five participating franchise teams playing a single round robin followed by the SPL Season 3 final. The short and sweet competition will feature a total of 11 T20 games on the SPL 2023 schedule.
SPL 2023 dates
Sorath Lions won the first edition in SPL 2019 and then, Halar Heroes won the SPL 2022 edition. Both of these teams are still participating in the competition and after a lot of initial uncertainty, the SPL 2023 dates were finally announced. The third edition of the Saurashtra T20 League will be played between 23-31 August 2023, with matches starting at 3pm and 7pm India time.
The initial dates were 15-24 June 2023 but the Saurashtra cricket board decided to delay the tournament citing ‘cyclonic effects in the region’. Now, the players are excited to get some action finally, with some of the big names participating including Samarth Vyas, Sheldon Jackson, Chetan Sakariya, Prerak Mankad, Chirag Jani, and others.

Saurashtra Premier League 2023 schedule
Being played over a period of just nine days, there will be one match played on every day of the SPL 2023 schedule, with the only weekend on the schedule (Friday and Saturday) being double headers. All of these 11 scheduled matches will be played at the Saurashtra Cricket Association Stadium in Rajkot, so you can expect the pitch to play the same way right throughout the season.

The SPL 2023 final has been scheduled for the final day on the fixtures list, which is Thursday, 31 August 2023. Last year’s finalists will take on each other in the opening game of SPL 2023, so get ready for some good cricket to be played in the Halar Heroes vs Gohilwad Gladiators first game of the season.
