After experimenting with a number of T20 franchise leagues in the country over the years, Cricket South Africa (CSA) finally launched the new but super exciting and promising SA20 League in 2023. Backed by the same team owners of Indian Premier League (IPL) franchises, the new SA20 teams already have healthy fan-bases, with viewership coming in from across the world.
The first edition was the SA20 League 2023 and from the start, we saw a lot of fireworks from the bats of some of the biggest talents in the country. We at Read Scoops decided to make a list of every individual century that was scored in the SA20 League history, from the start of the competition till date. List of centuries in SA20 League
While the tournament is still in its nascent stages, there are already a few entries in the SA20 centuries list. Over the years, a lot of local batsmen performed in the CSA T20 Challenge (Also called Ram Slam T20, MiWay T20 Challenge, and others for sponsorship reasons), and here, it was former South Africa captain Faf du Plessis who recorded the first SA20 century.

After du Plessis scored the first entry into the SA20 centuries list, a few more South Africans got there as well, including his national side teammates in Heinrich Klaasen and Aiden Markram, all three getting centuries in the inaugural SA20 season itself. It was only in SA20 League 2024 that the first overseas player got a century here, when England’s Will Jacks pounded 101(42) for the Pretoria Capitals.
Nearly two seasons into the competition and we’re yet to see a really big score from any of the SA20 batsmen. So far when we last updated this page, it was Faf’s 113* that remains the highest individual score in SA20 League history. On the other hand, the fastest century in the tournament came in 2024 when Will Jacks got to the milestone in only 41 deliveries.
