The 2022 Australia tour of India is now complete with three really closely-contested games being played in India. After the visiting team took a 1-0 lead in the series early on, they went on to lose the next couple of games with all of the matches going down to the wire. While all the players and millions of fans across the country were super happy yesterday, the Indian captain and former captain were seen celebrating together in a very special embrace. There’s always been talks of a Virat Kohli vs Rohit Sharma rift but it didn’t look anything of the sort when India managed to get over the line yesterday.

First, Rohit Sharma congratulated Kohli as the latter walked into the stairwell after being dismissed for 63 in the 3rd T20I. He put in the hard yards but wasn’t able to stay there till they got over the line. Dinesh Karthik and Hardik Pandya are India’s designated finishers and both of them were out there in what became a nail-biting contest. Eventually, it was 4 needed in 2 balls and Pandya got an outside edge which flew to the boundary for four, allowing India to get a 6-wicket victory and secure the match as well as the series. That’s when Rohit and Kohli were spotted celebrating together.

In a spontaneous reaction, the two got into an embrace in the stairwell itself and starting jumping for joy as Pandya managed to get some bat on the final delivery, which ran away for a boundary. While there’s constant media debates about whether the two get along or not, the way they celebrated together shows that there’s absolutely no issue between the two, which is also great for the overall team environment too.

Twitter loves to see a little bit of bromance between Team India players and they certainly appreciate ti much more when it’s these two players in question. Yes, India won the series and got some great practice ahead of the 2022 T20 World Cup which begins next month, but these two sharing some happy moments together is something that the internet loved wayyyyy more!
