WATCH: Ravindra Jadeja Hits 37 Runs in Single Over

The best part about this game we all love the most is that there are records being broken daily. And in a tournament like the Indian Premier League (IPL), there’s never any shortage of entertainment and today, all that entertainment was provided by Chennai Super Kings and Team India all-rounder, Ravindra Jadeja.

In the first few games of the IPL 2021 season, Jadeja was electric in the field and was contributing with bat and ball as well. Just the game before this, he picked up 4 catches helping CSK get a victory. Here however, he demolished the opposition Royal Challengers Bangalore with a half century while batting and then followed it up with some wickets and a stunning run out as well!

He’s not called Sir Ravindra Jadeja for nothing and today, he proved his abilities once again. From all of his antics today, the best contribution definitely came with the bat where he smashed 5 sixes and a total of 37 runs in the final over, propelling CSK to a match-winning total of 191/4 in their 20 overs.

CSK had a lull in the middle overs and they were aiming for 160+ going into the final over. However, Jaddu had other plans today as he creamed Harshal Patel for 4 consecutive sixes in the 20th over, which included one no ball and a free hit. He followed that with a double, a fifth six and a one-bounce boundary off the last ball to get a IPL history record-equalling 37 runs in a single over!

Many years ago, Chris Gayle did the same against Prasanth Parameswaran of Kochi Tuskers Kerala, smashing 37 runs in a single over. Today, Jaddu equalled that record and he will be a very proud man. He followed it up with 3 wickets with the ball and got a well-deserved Man of the Match for this performance. Check it out:
