The Rajasthan Cricket Association (RCA) launched a T20 franchise league of their own, with the first edition of the competition being launched in 2023. The Rajasthan Premier League (RPL) launched on 27 Aug 2023 with as many as 19 T20s on the schedule. And while there isn’t a very long history in this tournament so far, there have been some great individual performances already.
While the batting performances are usually talked about the most, there are some outstanding bowling efforts that are witnessed from time to time. Players from the state of Rajasthan participate in the tournament and here on this page today, we’ll look at all the 5-wicket hauls that have been taken in the history of the Rajasthan Premier League…
Considering it’s only the first edition of the Rajasthan Premier League, there is only one 5-fer in RPL T20 so far, picked by Lakhan Bharti who plays for the Bhilwara Bulls team against Udaipur Lakecity Warriors in the sixth game of the tournament itself. Below, we’ve put up a complete RPL T20 5-wicket hauls list, updated 4th September 2023, during the first edition of the competition.

In that game, Bharti was used as the second change bowler and not many would’ve expected him to go on to finish with figures of 5/12 in 3.3 overs, going at an economy rate of just 3.40 and even bowling a maiden in one of those overs. His special spell meant that the opponents were bowled out for a paltry total of 67 which was the lowest total of RPL 2023 as well.

Bharti went on to become the Man of the Match in that game, for obvious reasons, as his team was able to complete a 8-wicket victory thanks to his bowling effort. Apart from him, no other bowler managed to get a 5-fer in RPL 2023 so far while Pradhumn Parikh was the next best with the ball, ending with figures of 4/29 also against the Lakecity Warriors.

It’s still early days in the competition so while there aren’t too many RPL 5-fers on this list right now, we’re sure it’s only going to get better in the years and seasons to come. Quite a few big names come out of Rajasthan, including Team India pacers like Deepak Chahar, Rahul Chahar, Khaleel Ahmed, and others.
