We’re looking at possibly the most loyal franchise team owner in the history of the Indian Premier League (IPL). It’s none other than Bollywood actress Preity Zinta who has been co-owner of an IPL franchise since the inception of the tournament way back in 2008. She has supported her team Kings XI Punjab (now Punjab Kings) season after season, through all the hardships.
We mention hardships because they’ve always found issues on and off the field and in 14 years of the tournament, they’re yet to win a single title in the IPL. Yet, she comes out there and is always the most bubbly fan in the crowd, with her expressions saying it all. It’s safe to state that more than half of Punjab Kings’ fan base is because of Zinta itself, but she’s now all set to miss the IPL Auction 2022.
Preity Zinta misses IPL Auction 2022
It’s the most talked about event on the internet right now as the IPL 2022 Auction is set to take place in Bengaluru between 12-13 Feb with not 8 but now 10 teams bidding for cricketers from across the world. A total list of 590 players have been shortlisted to go under the hammer and Preity Zinta took to social media to let fans know that she will be missing the IPL 2022 Mega Auction.
“This year I’m going to miss the IPL Auction as I cannot leave my little ones & travel to India.The last couple of days have been hectic discussing d auction & all things cricket with our team.I wanted to reach out to our fans & ask them if they hv any player suggestions..” said Zinta on her Twitter account, where she has nearly 6 million followers.

For those who don’t know, Preity recently became a mother and she obviously chose parenthood priorities over her cricket team, and that’s very understandable. However, she has always been very supportive of her team, and super involved too. It will be Head Coach Anil Kumble who will take a seat for the Kings in the 2022 IPL Auction.
She followed it up with another tweet on the same thread, saying, “or recommendations for our new team. I would love to know who you wanna see in the red jersey this year. Bring it on folks… I’m all ears” and that’s just anther indicator to show how much she is invested in this team and its players. We will surely miss her at the IPL 2022 Mega Auction.

Punjab Kings goes into the IPL 2022 Auction as the team with the highest remaining purse as they let go of their most experienced players, including captain KL Rahul. They’re targetting a complete revamp ahead of the IPL 2022 season and we’re sure to see some surprises from them at the auction.
