Kohli was playing IPL 2023 Match 50 for RCB against Delhi Capitals when he needed 12 runs at the start of the game to get to this record. He was already having a great IPL 2023 season before this game with 5 fifties in 9 games, and he went on to get a few more runs here as well, securing yet another IPL batting record, cementing his name in the tournament’s record books once again.
