WATCH: MS Dhoni Painting Chairs at Chepauk Stadium

Easily one of the most respected and loved cricketers in the history of the game, MS Dhoni is in the news once again. Now playing no forms of cricket apart from the Indian Premier League (IPL), no one has seen him hold the bat or don the wicket-keeping gloves after IPL 2022. And now, he’s back in the Chennai Super Kings colours as the IPL 2023 season looms near.

Chennai has a massive fan-base and their all finding their voices now as the CSK players have gathered together and even shared a couple of training sessions by now. And most recently, MS Dhoni was seeing painting seats at the Chepauk Stadium in Chennai, which has been home to the CSK since the start of the cash-rich IPL competition in 2008.

MS Dhoni paints seats at Chepauk Stadium

Dressed in the CSK kits, MSD was seen holding a spray gun and painting seats at the Chepauk Stadium, where the team will return to after 4 long years. Because of Covid-19 and other political reasons, the CSK home fans haven’t had the chance to support their team here for so long. But now, IPL cricket is back to Chennai and MSD wanted to ensure the stadium chairs looked new as well.

Going with the CSK team kit, the chairs across the stadium are yellow and blue and Dhoni was seen painting both the yellow as well as blue chairs, looking quite invested in it as well. In the video posted by the Chennai Super Kings social media team, Dhoni was seen talking to someone, laughing and saying that the spray gun colour was working fine.

The video posted by CSK has gone viral and millions of people have viewed it already, including being reposted by many other accounts on Twitter. They posted the video with caption ‘β€œπ‘«π’†π’‡π’Šπ’π’Šπ’•π’†π’π’š π’π’π’π’Œπ’Šπ’π’ˆ 𝒀𝒆𝒍𝒍𝒐𝒗𝒆” Anbuden Awaiting for April 3πŸ¦πŸ’›’ referring to CSK’s first home game at the MA Chidambaram Stadium, scheduled for 3rd April 2023. Experts believe that this will be MS Dhoni’s last year in the IPL because he’s getting older (now 41 years old) and hasn’t had the best of outings in the last few seasons as well. From IPL 2020 to IPL 2022, Dhoni played 44 matches and only managed one fifty. This includes a horrendous IPL 2021 season where he had a best of just 18* in 16 games. His strike rate has also suffered big time in the last 3 seasons.

Fans know that this could be the last time we’re seeing MS Dhoni playing competitive cricket and that’s why everything Thala does is making headlines. A week ago, he was in the news for viral images of his bulging biceps taken during a nets session. His love for CSK and the IPL is evident in this latest video of the former Indian captain, and we hope to see the best of him in IPL 2023.
