It’s been a week of controversies for international cricketers. A couple of days ago, we spoke about Pakistan captain Babar Azam being a part of a sexual harassment claim where his intimate images and videos were leaked. Now, it’s time for a former Australian captain to be the center of attention, as the player was caught right in the middle of a public altercation.
We’re talking about Michael Clarke who was out with his girlfriend Jade Yarbrough, and her brother Karl Stefanovic, and his partner. The four of them were at a public park when suddenly, onlookers saw Clarke being slapped repeatedly by his girlfriend Yarbrough, amidst allegations of him cheating on her and sleeping with his ex-girlfriend, Pip Edwards.

In one video posted online, you can see Clarke continuously denying the allegations from Yarbrough, while she was seen continuously hitting and slapping him. At some point in the conversation, she told Clarke that he’s been continuously lying to her and that he ‘fucked her on 17th December’. Others in the park were also yelling for them to be in control as there were children in the park as well.
A lot of abusive language was flying around and then, Clarke decided to have a go at Stefanovic as well, as he ran towards the latter and told him to hit him. He called Stefanovic a coward and told him not to run away. Clarke was seen shirtless and he seemed to have injured his leg which made the entire situation a whole lot more comical.

We’re not sure of the exact story so far but we ca see Yarbrough pretty convinced that Clarke has been lying and cheating on her. Amidst these Michael Clarke cheating allegations, the 41-year old batsman was even heard saying ‘I swear on my life’ and ‘I swear on my daughter’ in a hope to convince his girlfriend that he’s been faithful.
It’s not the first time an Australian captain has been caught in such controversies as former Ashes captain Tim Paine was recently caught in a sexting scandal where he was cheating on his wife with a Cricket Tasmania employee, which caused the wicket-keeper batsman to resign as the Test captain. At one point when Yarbrough was pushing Clarke around, she said that she read Clarke’s messages which included saying that Pip was the love of his life and that he invited her with him to his upcoming trip to India. And now after this wild video has emerged online, his trip may be cancelled post a board review and he is set to lose out on a lot of money as well.
“I’m deeply regretful for having put people I hold in the highest esteem in this difficult situation. My actions in the lead-up to this altercation were nothing short of shameful and regrettable. I am shattered that because of my actions, I’ve drawn women of class and integrity, and my mates, into this situation,” said Clarke to a media outlet after this news and videos popped up online.
