Complete Maharaja Trophy T20 Winners List

The Karnataka State Cricket Association (KSCA) launched the Karnataka Premier League in 2009 and over the years, they’ve made many changes to the competition in terms of the format and the participating franchise teams. They even went on to change the name of the tournament to the Maharaja Trophy KSCA T20 from 2022 onwards.

The players have been the same across the years, while some of the teams and team owners have remained over time as well. Since inception, a total of nine completed seasons of Maharaja Trophy T20 have taken place, with the tournament missing out from 2011 to 2013, and then again between 2020 and 2021. The first edition of the tournament was won by the now defunct Provident Bangalore franchise, beating Belagavi Panthers in the KPL 2009 final. They made the final in 2010 as well but after that first edition, no Bangalore franchise has gone on to join this Karnataka Premier League winners list. In fact, only Bijapur Bulls and Hubli Tigers have gone on to win the title on more than one occasion.

Hubli Tigers holds the record for the most number of Karnataka T20 finals, getting to four finals over the years, with their latest final coming in the 2023 edition. In terms of the individual performers in Maharaja Trophy T20 finals, two players have been awarded the Man of the Match in a final on more than one occasion. This included Amit Verma who put up all-round performances in both the KPL 2009 final as well as the KPL 2014 final, and Manish Pandey who won the award in two consecutive finals in 2022 and 2023.

There haven’t been too many nail-biting finishes in Maharaja T20 finals, with the narrowest margin in a final being 8 runs in the KPL 2019 final where Hubli Tigers emerged winners, and then again when Hubli beat Mysuru in 2023. On the other hand, the biggest win in terms of runs came in KPL 2010 when Mangalore United won their first and only title here, beating Provident Bangalore by a whopping 44 runs.
