It’s the return of the Lanka Premier League (LPL T20) as the tournament prepares for its fourth ever edition in Sri Lanka. All previous editions were won by the Jaffna franchise and going into the fourth season, the organisers have decided on a fresh auction, where each team has only retained four players ahead of the LPL 2023 Auction.

The LPL Auction 2023 is scheduled to take place on 14th June 2023, modelled similar to the Indian Premier League for the first time ever. Each team will have a purse of $500,000 and it’s being reported that over 500 players are going under the hammer this time, including cricketers from all across the world. These players will be divided into capped and uncapped categories.

The base price of the players registered to the LPL 2023 Auction are divided into segments of $10,000, $20,000, $30,000, $40,000, and the highest price range category being $50,000. Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) confirmed that each team will have to make a squad of between 20-24 players and the amount spent in pre-auction signings will be deducted from the purse assigned to the franchises. SLC has confirmed about LPL Auction 2023 live streaming, that the live telecast and stream will take place on the LPL Facebook and YouTube channels.
