Marnus Labuschagne Reacts To Travis Head Being Hit

Day 2 of the 1st Test of Ashes 2021/22 at The Gabba and it was Australia’s day all along. David Warner and Marnus Labuschagne scored marvellous fifties but the man who stole the show was Travis Head who was a last minute addition to the team ahead of Usman Khawaja, and he repaid the faith with a fine century, at a pace you usually don’t get to see in Test cricket.

Marnus Labuschagne Reacts To Travis Head Being Hit

The England bowlers were tiring and after playing out the first hour after coming to the crease, Head started taking the attack to the bowlers. Ben Stokes seemed to have a niggle and he attacked him. Spinner Jack leach was ineffective too, and Head didn’t spare him either. As a result, he sped to 112(95)* in a counter-attacking innings including 12 fours and 2 sixes.

However, towards the fag end of the day, he has hit in the face from a short ball by England pacer Mark Wood. It was a bit of a serious moment as he wasn’t able to fend off the short ball, and it went on to hit him below the grill and on the chin. To his luck, the ball hit the glove first, so it cushioned the blow to the face, but it was a worrisome moment as he fell straight to the ground.

While the entire team management was shocked and there was clear anxiety on their faces, Marnus Labuschagne somehow found something funny in the entire episode. He’s known to be super expressive and those expressions were all on displays as he couldn’t hide the smile as Head went down to the ground.

He’s clearly a character you’ll love and luckily for him and the Australian team, Head was quick to get out an continue his innings. For more cricket news from around the world, stay tuned to ReadScoops.com
