Ishan Kishan Scores Record Maiden Double Hundred

It’s not everyday that you hear of batsmen scoring 150+ scores in ODI cricket and it’s even more rare than you hear of them getting double centuries in this format of the game. While ODI cricket has been taking place since a century and more, it was only in 2010 that the first men’s ODI century was scored, by India’s Sachin Tendulkar.

Since then, quite a few players joined the men’s ODI double hundreds list but today, it’s not about any of them but it’s all about the young Indian wicket-keeper batsman Ishan Kishan, who went on to score not just his maiden ODI double century, but the knock was also his maiden ODI century, in only his tenth ODI game for India. What a big day for the man who broke multiple records on 10th Dec 2022…

India batted first in the 3rd ODI of the 2022 India tour of Bangladesh and everything was all about the 24-year old from Patna today. He got to his maiden century when Virat Kohli on the other end was in his forties. From there, Kishan went into sixth gear and got to a 150+ score while Kohli was still in his forties. It was absolute carnage and mayhem on the day.

The Bangladesh bowlers didn’t know where to hide their faces as Kishan smashed fours and sixes to every corner of the ground, eventually getting to his double hundred in only the 35th over of the innings, against the bowling of Mustafizur Rahman. These was no respite and he got there with a single to the off-side, digging out a yorker from the fizz.
