When is the IPL 2021 Auction?

After a delayed edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL) in 2020 because of the Covid-19 pandemic, fans won’t have to wait a whole year again for the next IPL season. The entertainment is always high in this premier T20 franchise tournament and recently, the organizers announced the IPL 2021 Auction which will take place on 18th February 2021.

As per reports, we have 1,097 players registered to be a part of the IPL Auction 2021 and from them, only 61 will end up getting contracts, of which a maximum of 22 overseas players can be picked. Clearly, the battle begins in the auction itself and not when players take step onto the field. Scouts and management have been watching players for weeks now, with 196.6 Crore left to be spent by the franchises ahead of this IPL 2021 season.
